Initial session
An initial session is an opportunity for us to meet each other and talk about what’s brought you to therapy. Here you can get a feel for how I work and ask any questions. It’s more structured than usual as I cover certain questions in order to be able to work together. Here we can either decide whether to continue or you can think it over.
An initial session is £60 and lasts 50 minutes.
Working together
Therapy is an opportunity to connect with parts of ourselves that might be cut off or which don’t get much space in everyday life. Making a place for these in therapy can help to feel more whole. This might mean working through particular emotions like anger, fear, sadness — or numbness. It could be we spend time with experiences from childhood, which can help make sense of the present.
Therapy has an element of the unknown, which can be unsettling for some clients. But often what we need and want to talk about finds its way into our space, even when it wasn’t expected. I offer a reliable, non-judgemental space in which I will listen to what emerges and respond authentically.
Sessions are weekly, lasting 50 minutes at the same time and place, either for a fixed period or open ended.
